Maker of the Week: Kevin Cox - KC Knives
This week’s Maker of the Week is Kevin Cox.
Kevin is a Canada-based maker who has been making for 35 years, he is also an avid hunter and many (probably all) of his models are tested hard in the field by the hands that make them
The first time Kevin used GripX, he knew it would be a game-changer for him. He prefers GripX to G10 due to the ease of working it, he finds that cutting and sanding is easy and requires no special tools. When packing out a knife on a hunt, Kevin notes that the lightweight GripX helps take a load out of his pack and also gives the knife a better balance. In his field testing, he finds that the unique traction that GripX provides is superb compared to other composite knife handle materials.
At the end of the day, Kevin says "Over 35 years of doing knives - I can say this is the best handle material I've used for my outdoors knives."
On many of Kevin's knives, you will find the fluorescent GripX colors, this knife features the Fluorescent Green GripX. Flo Green GripX doesn’t whisper — it glows. Loud, electric, and impossible to ignore, and just as impossible to lose. Whether it’s on a tactical blade, a hard-use hunter, or a bold EDC, Flo Green brings high-vis energy without sacrificing control. Bright on the table. Locked in under pressure.
